Ra.One (2011) Movie Review

Share
I have often heard people say, the film-making is nothing less than a game. And as any player will tell you, you have to bet big to win big. Going by this logic, Shah Rukh Khan is Supreme The Gambler years.
What is at stake, along with money invested in RA.ONE of course, is a dream, a vision, an aspiration to make a film that appeals to children and young at heart. In short, the attempt of a movie that appeals to the universal public. At the same time, it should raise the bar for Hindi films. Also at stake is the former undisputed supremacy of SRK as the reigning Bollywood idol and that elusive thing called reputation. When you invest your prestige in your project dreams and risking your neck, you expect nothing less than a mega-success.
Films like Krrish and ROBOT started the trend of superhero movies in India, with the fantasy of making deep inroads in mainstream Hindi cinema. Now Ra.One
raises the bar, do not take a step or two, but a giant leap and adheres to international standards in terms of execution. But the soul, I wish to add, is very desi. This is precisely why RA.ONE emerges trumps. RA.ONE is beautiful [read films look good] with brains [read content].
What movie features a stunning superhero? I have narrowed it down to three components necessary for me to believe are absolutely necessary for a superhero movie seductive. The first is that the film must include spectacular action and edge-of-the-seat thrills. Second, a superhero movie should also magnificent boast of bright performances of actors, which in turn should make these characters seem believable and relatable. Third and most important, the superhero movies must have a narrative that keeps us yearning for more. All these are essential factors in making a superhero movie that will be both acclaimed and beloved by fans. Fortunately, RA.ONE emerges triumphant in all three departments.

RA.ONE is the most ambitious, most expensive and technologically complex Hindi film ever made. He pushes the envelope even further. It's not just a movie, but an experience, an event. It is a film that will rewrite the book of computer graphics in Hindi films. At the same time, is very Indian at heart. The relationship between SRK and the boy is the highlight of the company. But at the same time, there is a large clap-trap moments that will send the audience wild. The chase sequence, when he finally zeroes in Ra.One Lucifer, and the "entry" subsequent superhero is inspiring. The train sequence in the second hour is an exceptional talent and film. The presence of Rajnikanth in a crucial sequence will be greeted with deafening applause and whistles. And of course, the film's climax, he is simply jaw-dropping.
Besides these factors, the number of 'Chammak Chhallo' is already a rage and so are the sequences involving visual effects. In a nutshell, is an entertainer that works big time. You have not experienced something like this ever on the Hindi screen!
A father struggles to fit into the world of his son. While Shekhar [Shah Rukh Khan] tries every trick in the book to lure his son, his son had given him. Only when the father and son duo hit an impasse, Shekhar strikes gold when he designs a hell of a game. Finally, everything starts to fall into place. But happiness is short-lived. All hell breaks loose when the game was to be played with, starts to play them

We are spoiled by the ability of cinema to create celluloid anything you can imagine, so we Raconteurs making efforts to provide us with films that you would never have imagined, even in your mind. You realize this as you watch RA.ONE, which is a visual spectacle from start to finish.
Director Anubhav Sinha, along with co-writers David Benullo, Kanika Dhillon and Mushtaq Shiekh can be inspired by international movies, as well as the concept is concerned, but they serve to ensure the right masala of spectators in 2.30 hours. What really takes you by surprise is not just the money spent on visual effects and impressive chase scenes and action, but the twists and turns in the script that unravel at a feverish pace.
n addition, moviegoers have certain expectations and notions of superhero movies and they expect such characters to perform daring stunts to save someone's life or a nation. But this is different. Visually striking and dramatically just what the doctor ordered, the film boasts of relatable characters, which makes this movie superhero for children, like adults. In fact, I would like to add, RA.ONE is not only directed with skill, but also visually dynamic and fun start to completion.
The album of the film lives up to lofty expectations. Vishal-Shekhar to deliver an outstanding score with 'Chammak Chhallo', 'Dildaara' and 'Raftarein "be the choice of the lot. The background score, also recorded by them, is equally electrifying. V. Manikandan and cinematography is top Nicola Pecorini line. Same goes for the stunts and chases [Andy Gill and Spiro Razatos]. Dialogue [Kanika Dhillon and Niranjan Iyengar] are hardly common. What I found most interesting is that, if humorous or thoughtful, the communication channel seems very credible . Ra.One and G. A The suits, designed by Robert Kurtzman, are super.
RA.ONE is a perfect vehicle to do justice to the talent of Shah Rukh Khan. He seems to have found a story and character that work in perfect sync and harmony with the manic energy. SRK directs this physically challenging leadership role, with high-spirited self-belief. He is captivating as the father and magnificent as the superhero with a heart. Kareena Kapoor is a delight to watch. She slips easily into the character. Moreover, it seems ethereal music of "Chammak Chhallo and his intelligence is contagious. Arjun Rampal pulls his act with effort and style. Also, look for Arjun is well designed is admirable.
I'd like to make special mention of Armaan Verma, the kid who has a key part to portray. He stands shoulder to shoulder with SRK and Kareena throughout the film and has a super-confident performance. The film has a number of actors in leading roles [Shahana Goswami, Dalip Tahil, Satish Shah, Suresh Menon, Mushtaq Shiekh and Tom Wu] and each of them fit well in their respective parts. Sanjay Dutt and Priyanka Chopra to add to the glam quotient, while Rajnikanth proves once again that it is a scene stealer.
But the man who ensures the current round of applause is the director Anubhav Sinha himself. To bring the best of SRK, Kareena and Arjun. For the amazing script. For the fast flow while the smooth narrative. And for the fantastic course of written material. He deserves admiration for each top of his act.

Overall it is a solid entertainer RA.ONE, no two opinions about it. It is not only a great looking film, but also has a soul, which is so essential to strike a chord with avid viewer. As for business prospects, RA.ONE is sure to break all previous records and set new in India and internationally. The film will be the new criterion for measuring success. Blockbuster has written all over it!
